Myrtle The Motorhome

Our third booked weekend at York.

Once again because this site shuts quite frequently due to flooding so we've booked a few weekends to avoid disapointment and to edge our bets.

Hawthorn Farm Caravan Club Site, Sutton On Sea

A new site for us.

Close to Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire this will be the first time we've visited this site.
The pictures we usually use for the blog are ones we've taken ourselves but as we haven't been here before I had to search the web for a picture and now I'm really hoping it's one of those places where the pictures don't do it justice.

At least it should be nice and flat and ideal for exploring on Lizzie & Ada.

August 16th to August 18th

April 12th to April 14th

Rowntree Park Caravan Club Site, York, North Yorkshire

This site was closed for a large part of last year for refurbishment, we did get booked in for last October but had to cancel when we booked the Euro Tour so we're really looking forward to this weekend and seeing what improvements to the site there have been.

It would also be nice to be able to enjoy a beer in sunshine sat outside the Kings Arms

March 29th to April 1st

Chester Fairoaks, Chester.

Easter Weekend

Our first planned outing of the year and we're heading for the Caravan Club's Chester Fairoaks site.

We've not visited this site before though we have tried twice before so it's very much a case of third time lucky we hope.

Due  To Snow

April 26th to April 28th

Castleton Caravan Club Site, Derbyshire

This is a site we visited three times last year and is in a location we very much like.

For us it's quite an easy place to get too, it's quiet and set in some of the most beautiful countryside which is splattered with some cracking pubs.

May 10th to May 12th

Chatsworth Caravan Club Site, Derbyshire

The first of two weekends booked for Chatsworth.

This will be the weekend of the Chatsworth International Horse Trials. We're so not horsie but the Dressage, Crosscountry and Show Jumping is a marvellous specacle. There is also a large number of stalls and trade stands which we usually end up getting carried away with and end up buying country clothing in one form or another which we never have any other siutable opportunity to wear until the next years event or at the Chatsworth Country Show which is on are next booked weekend here.

May 24th to May 27th

Rowntree Park Caravan Club Site, York North Yorkshire

Our second booked weekend at York.

This site shuts quite frequently due to flooding so we've booked a few weekends to avoid disapointment.
We have guests this weekend too with Sharon & Tony coming to stop with us for the first time on the Friday, Saturday & Sunday and we're coming home on the Bank Holiday Monday.

June 7th to June 9th

Knareborough Caravan Club Site, North Yorkshire

We visited this site last year for the first time on a weekend that just happened to be Knaresborough Bed Race weekend and we had a really good time.

We've booked the same calendar weekend and we are looking forward to visting Knaresborough again and if it happens to be the Bed Race once again then that will be a bonus.

Chatsworth Caravan Club Site, Derbyshire
April 19th to April 21st

Ferry Meadows Caravan Club Site, Peterborough

This was an extra weekend we have squeezed in so we can have a Myrtle Meet with some Myrtle Mates, Bob & Julie aka the Roaming Rothwells from East Anglia.

It is also the weekend of the Peterborough Motorhome Show.

Scarborough Caravan & Camping Club Site,
North Yorkshire

September 13th to September 15th

A favourite site and our second planned visit of the year.

A good chippie on site, a short walk too Tesco Express, a Pub next to the site and several with in walking distance. On a nice day it's a lovely walk to North Bay and into Scarborough.

Castleton Caravan Club Site, Derbyshire

Our guests for this weekend are Sharon & Tony .

Looking forward to tea on Friday night in the Peak Hotel and a BBQ on Saturday weather permitting.

A walk to Edale and a train back to Hope also sounds good.

August 2nd to August 4th

August 30th to September 2nd

July 5th to July 7th

Scarborough Caravan & Camping Club Site, North Yorkshire

A favourite site and with the right weather hopefully a good weekend ahead.

A good chippie on site, a short walk too Tesco Express, a Pub next to the site and several with in walking distance. On a nice day it's a lovely walk to North Bay and into Scarborough.

Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site, London

July 14th to July 17th

A late booking made so we could attend my daughter Lucy's Graduation at St. Mary's University on Tuesday 16th July.

At a wedding near home on Saturday 13th so travelling down on the Sunday, Monday for site seeing, Tuesday the graduation and Wednesday to travel home.

Windermere Caravan & Camping Club Site, Cumbria

September 27th to September 29th

Our First Ever Venture To The Lake District.

A good time to start and explore new area to visit next year and to enjoy a change of scenery.

Keswick Caravan & Camping Club Site, Cumbria

Occtober 18th to October 22nd

A Quick Return To Cumbria To Meet Myrtle Mates For An Extended Weekend Break.

Another new site for us which comes highly recommended and sounds superbly located at the end of Derwent Water.

Unfortunately we had to cancel this weekend because of family events we weren't aware of when we booked this at the beginning of the season.
We did, however, cancel in plenty of time for someone else to take advantage of the booking.

Rowntree Park, York, North Yorkshire

July 19th to July 21st

June 14th to June 23rd

A Nine Night June Break to the New Forest

This is H’s favourite place in the UK .
With several family members being on holiday in Fordingbridge from the 15th to 22nd of June we decided to join them and shopped around for the best deal we could.
Sandy Balls was the closest Campsite to them and we also like the Caravan and Camping Clubs, Camping in the Forest Site at Ashurst.

Fridays and Saturdays at Sandy Balls in June are £40.00 per night and weekdays and Sundays are usually £15.00.
However a midweek offer of just £10.00 per night at Sandy Balls and a non member discount offer by Camping In The Forest meant by booking as non members and entering the required offer codes we not only got to book the two sites we like but saved a lot of money in the process.
So the 14th & 16th at Ashurst cost £25.59, 16th to 21st at Sandy Balls cost £50.00, and 21st to 23rd at Ashurst another £25.59, total cost £101.18.
To stop the same period just at Sandy Balls would have cost £260.00.

The second of our two weekends booked for Chatsworth

Our guests for the weekend are Gary & Julie.

This is the weekend of the Country Show and a good chance to wear the daft country clothing we bought at last years show.

This really is a great weekend to look forward to with plenty going on.
